  • Finally got this down and done. A co-worker wanted a unique idea for letting her husband know she was pregnant, so we did a congratulations thing for him. Every one loved it. Thanks for the great instructions. Happy New Year.

  • @usaearthling Wow! She told you before she told her husband! That's an honour.

Glad it was a success. It is pretty spectacular when you get it all done. Happy New Year to you too :o)

  • I used theses exact measurements and it didn't work the small box doesn't fit inside the middle box!

  • @cmruss3 The measurements are approximate & you may need to make adjustments. My small box fits fine as you can see in my box card video.

  • When you take the lid off, how do you make the flaps come all te way down? Mine stays up there and slowly comes down :p

If you crease each fold well, back and forth before sticking in place it helps. If you've stuck them in then just keep folding each crease until it loosens up.

  • Thanks for posting this video. Sadly the measurements for the lid is too big. I played around with it and found that making the lid 5 1/2" was perfect. =)

  • @cmruss3 I had the same problem. I kept cutting until it did, but the smalled box was so "thin" by then.

  • @PMaddict lol, yeah but I pretty much told her she was pregnant when she was throwing up..got a pg test and it was positive...so I was the first to know, hahaha. She's 5 months now. Again thanks for the great tutorial.

Make sure you score your folds well & folding/unfolding will help loosen the flaps a little to get them to flop open when you lift off the lid.

It could be that you need to trim a little bit to make the flaps work well. I had to play around a lot with the inner boxes to get them how I wanted & they may be millimeters different to the measurements shown.

You can try sticking them in place with blue-tac first to see how they work together before making them permanently stuck.
