Pouring rain and wild doves call

My strawhat and my summer shoes
are waiting and they´re looking sad.
I cannot take them for a walk
because the weather is too bad.

Drip drop, drip drop, rain is falling.
And I hear the wild doves calling.
I don´t like that sound at all:
Pouring rain and wild doves call.
I never hear them in the sunshine,
when sky is blue and weather is fine.
When the wild doves call: "Goo goo..."
it´s raining and that makes me blue.

I watch between big raindrops
that are running down my window pane
small kids hopping with gumboots and
umbrellas up and down the lane

But I can´t stand to walk through puddles,
and don´t like water in my face.
I wish the clouds would fly away...
and rain down at another place.
