  • except, a true mid-air kick you just leave the ground, no stepping, no forward motion. Some of the below comments about the definition of a mid-air kick from the encyclopedia is true, however, you must also look at the pictures of demonstration, as they ALL show no forward motion, no stepping. This video is not a mid-air 360, but it is a nice FLYING 360.

  • itf niggers..

  • thats it?

  • it was a pirate!!

  • This is with reference to the ITF encyclopedia as writen by Gen Choi Hong Hi. The problem is that people don't really study the true definitions of techniques then the global terminology gets distorted. Thank you for your time and I hope you are now enlightened. if you have any more question I would be happy to explain them in detail. Regards.

  • The position of the body when performing a mid air kick is the same as a flying side kick i.e the body is in a side facing position but you have turned either 180 or 360 degrees.

  • Then the same for flying. The reason for it's definition is the position of the body when in the air. The position for a flying back kick would be with the body facing away from the opponent.

  • With all due respect, yes a back kick is it's own technique. But the definition is either back piercing, back pushing, back thrusting kick.

  • first of all "back kick" is its own unqiue kick it is not a 180 or 360 side kick. Along with side, chop/axe, front, and spin they are the basic techniques for taekwondo. Next, since when does one use a layman encyclopedias for martial art techniques?

  • The correct definition is a 360 mid air kick. A mid air kick is a flying side kick except turning either 180 or 360 degrees. This is the definition in the encyclopedia.
