The Tacoma of my dreams finally a reality. Lots of hard work and a good amount of help from all my friends. THANKS TO EVERYONE that let me borrow a welder, powdercoated some parts, helped put together my exhaust, donated hardware, gave me a break on the cost of some parts, welded some aluminum for me, helped me out with the Adaptronic computer and anyone that had any input or ideas to contribute. It's only going to get better from here too. :-) Big thanks to big D at Lextreme.com who's site gave me the inspiration to actually decide on using the Lexus engine in the first place.

  • what year is that truck?

  • @11Superguy First year the Tacoma was sold in the US. 1995.5

  • This truck is awesome! Have your had any issues with frame rot or did you have yours replaced?

  • @HedgehogOutdoors Glad you like it. It's what I always wanted. I keep my truck completely free of mud and sand so I've never had anything remotely close to that. I've reinforced the frame and added new brackets here and there so I always keep it painted and clean. When we go to the sand we always clean our trucks underneath to keep em from rusting.

  • @casmitherz Ok, thanks for your help!

  • @HedgehogOutdoors No problem at all. I've just read about frames degrading in extreme instances but I've never actually seen one or heard from someone who's had one ever. I've talked to a ton of Toyota owners and no one has ever mentioned it.

  • @casmitherz Toyota canada is recalling lots of em up here in quebec cause of frame rust. They pay good money too :)))

  • @casmitherz Well that's a relief. I've seen a huge amount of fords from the last generation that are already completely rotted through the wheel well.

  • @shitera1 check out my forum for a ton of information on the build: four wheel forum dot com. i spent a few thousand on mine. you can do it cheaper tho.
