helmets amazingly not supplied at this commercial riding centre catering mainly for inexperienced tourists. yeh, we broke our own rules re safety wear but with a fair bit of riding experience behind us and the guide leading us in convoy - at low speed - we considered it very safe and didnt want to miss this chance in Namibia...would you?

The righteous will say they wouldnt ever ride without a helmet but i wonder if they had been there in Namibia...and i guess many have done risky stuff wearing helmets. Every year riders from South Africa are seriously injured and some killed through accidents in the dunes of Namibia and these are so called experienced riders with helmets and body protection...i think it sa lot about attititude when it comes to safety and risk assessment.

I guess, just it shouldn't really matter if you are doing 10mph or 50, a helmet should always be worn because you might get razorback or something happens out of nowhere. Just my 2 cents

i did this in dubai we were going fast we werent wearing helmets...if you know how to fucking drive then you shouldnt be needing a helmet...its fucking sand...the worse that can happen is your ATV explodes and you die in a fire or if a camel eats you....but for the rest..trust it its awesomeee
