The true word of God changed when it was translated out of its original tongue. Unless you've a firm grasp of the languages those books were written in, and studied them within their historical context, then you've never even read "the true word of God". You're merely extrapolating.

God's truth isn't "contained" within the binding of ANY book. It transcends it.

@1776iscoming You don't seem to understand my point, which you keep admitting without realising, is that GODS MORAL STANDARD IS ETERNAL and the moral standard of that God once said to people "take slaves, beat them, rape young girls, kill children and burn people alive" and this is the moral standard that you no longer adhere to, instead you pick and choose the 'word of god' - which, by the way, in reality was the word of jewish society at the time NOT of god.

(con'td) sinning and living a life of sin. Repentence is absolutely essential for grace. I'm not condemning you, I struggled with pornography and fornication for a long time before I was married. Sexual sin is the hardest temptation that men will ever face, I don't take it lightly at all. It's only by God's grace and His power that I was able to escape it.

The civil and ceremonial laws were given to the ancient Israelites, they were all fulfilled by Jesus' death and resurrection. God's moral standard is eternal, it is the nature of God. Sexual sin is condemned throughout scripture, there is not one place in the whole bible where God condones it. Sexual sin is any sexual lifestyle outside of a God ordained marriage. Does God forgive us when we mess up if we are truly saved, of course He does. There is a difference though..

@1776iscoming The rule about homosexuality was given in the same book a lot of these laws were given in, are you "stretching it" too when you say it's against god? And don't quote me Paul, because he used to be a Pharisee, so HE was one of the main people who fulfilled this anti-gay law, and he directly copied it into two of his letters (Romans and 1 Corinthians) despite saying in Galatians that Leviticus was null and void.

@1776iscoming IT'S THE SAME GOD! I don't care who he gave his rules to, God still decreed those things to be HIS law, you both believe in the existence of the Judeo-Christian God. And the stuff about slavery at least is mentioned in the new testament as well, I don't see your argument here. Was your God wrong? Was he broken to begin with, and he needed fixing?? I thought he was perfect, so don't argue with him, and start protesting for child sex slavery laws!!!
