Washington University Amateurs - The Luckiest

Here are the Washington University Amateurs, a co-ed a cappella group from Washington University in St. Louis.

This video was taken in 2005 at their annual concert, "Goin' Pro." Here they are singing an a cappella version of Ben Folds's "The Luckiest."

Sorry for the really small capture, this was literally the VERY FIRST TIME I was using my digital camera so I had no idea what I was doing!

ETA March 30 2009: Ben Folds has chosen to record and include the Amateurs performing "The Luckiest" on his BEN FOLDS PRESENTS: UNIVERSITY A CAPPELLA! album, coming out this April. The Amateurs will open for Ben Folds at his show in Nashville on April 7th. @kmiranda09 Hi I think you might mean Sally. She is also on the recording for Ben Folds' a cappella album. Search for "wnycradio ben folds luckiest" and watch the video by wnycradio, she had to sing into a coat for the recording.

This is almost unbearably beautiful--the arrangement, the vocals, everything. I've listened to it dozens of times, and it never fails to move me. Thank you so much for posting it--I feel lucky (ha ha) to have found it.

This is INCREDIBLE. The acappella group I'm in is doing this song for a wedding, and it IS published, cause I have the sheet music. Ridiculously good arrangement too.

this is very nice, the soprano descants are lovely, but why do groups still feel the need to have a very visible over-working student director, especially on a ballad?
