Primesense (the folks who made the kinect sensor) just released their software for analyzingdata from the kinect. It is really impressive! You can see in this video how robust the skeletal tracking is.

  • what is it running on? (OS)

  • @TheRealRiftmaster I run Ubuntu, but people have been trying to get this running on OSX and windows. see groups.google.com/group/openni-dev for discussions on this.

  • @roboczar thanks for replying so quickly, I am a 3d artist and was wondering if the skeletal data was 3d, and if it can be exported?

  • @TheRealRiftmaster It sure is. People have been using it already for 3d games and such (on PC - obviously it is used for games on the xbox!)

As for exported, also yes, but you may have to write your own exporter. I already did one to interface with ROS. (see my person following video)
