This is a pretty cool effect that is quite easy to reproduce...

Intructions:

1. Set the mode to "Grayscale".

2. Set it back to "RGB".

3. Add a new layer on top of the main one.

4. Select the eye with the "Eliptical Marquee Tool".

5. Use the "Gradient Tool" on angle and the rainbow preset.

6. Set the opacity to about 30%.

7. On the new layer, drag the tool from the pupil to the edge of the selection.

8. Deselect.

9. Select the layer with the gradient, and add a "Gaussian Blur" to it. Refer to the video as to how many pixels the blur will need.

10. If you want, add a new layer, and and create a new pupil over the entire image. I added a "Gaussian Blur" to the new pupil for better blending.

Good luck!

  • When adding the rainbow my colours do not go around in the circle? (as in they do fit in the selected marque, but they actualy colours do not go in a 360 degree motion) any idea why?

  • when you select the gradient tool, you have to make sure the gradient type is set to "angle"

  • ok next time LESS MUSIC and how about you talk and explain what you are doing!

  • lol sure thing..... ill add annotations next time, and the quality is bad so ll fix that too..... PM me if there is anything u want me to do ^^,

  • I agree with m3h1nd3r about adding images to the eye, and agreed with 54jlkj to explain what you are doing more instead of wrighting it down on the side bar. Like, what did you use to get the pupil back to normal and not all colorful?

  • do u mean adding an image within the pupil, or putting in a new iris??
