Yod-Yoko, winner of the 2008 COTTON USA Design Challenge in Thailand, wins Supimas
Competition for Emerging Designers in New York City. Following its sourcing show PREFAB,
Supima hosted its second annual design competition featuring 21 designers in three categories: knits,
denim and shirting (woven). Each designer was given 10 yards of Supima fabric to show two
eveningwear looks. Sirus Tantiyapong Yod-Yoko won the award for Best Design for Shirting
Fabrics. Yod-Yoko worked directly with Thai Textile Industry, a COTTON USA and Supima licensee,
to develop 200/2 Supima fabrics especially for the show. Yod-Yokos inspiration was Rhythm of
Fingerprint Line in which he used his own fingerprint in an art form to provide unique fabric lines and
textures.
