This short video shows an easy way of straightening copper or aluminum wire. This method makes building a good antenna easier. Won't work for coathanger wire, but that's okay since coathanger wire sucks for making antennas.

@0505abab It'll do both, but only if you overdo it. Just twist the wire enough to straighten it.

this is also the same way you can wind the wire perfectly to give it a heavier gauge, simply double the length you need, fold it in half, put double tipped end in drill and the folded end in the drill and watch it shrink

@58belvedere No. I looked into home made HDTV antennas (starting with the famous coathanger design), made a bunch of different designs, and came across this way of straightening wire on a website. My old way was streching it with a come along, which works well, but this is better, easier, and uses tools most people have.
