A Khan: Immaturity of Pakistanis

Asghar Khan - former Air Chief Marshall of the Pakistan Air Force, Chairman of the Tehrik-e-Istaqlaal political party, and a man renowned for his integrity and clarity - provides a scathing assessment of the political maturity of Pakistanis. He argues how: (a) the electorate is either ignorant or simple as it always manages to elect individuals who make a fool of it; (b) former President Musharraf should stand trial along with a host of other leaders - both dead and alive - who have "destroyed" Pakistan; (c) Pakistani politics is dominated by crooks and current President Zardari is no exception; (d) the nation needs a lot of time to "grow up" in terms of its ability to identity and select capable leaders; and (e) there is no hope for any improvement in the country's fortunes in the foreseeable future. This interview was recorded in 2009 as part of "Policy Matters" program.

@ASHOK251058 May I dare to say that 99.8 precent of worlds population have converted. Since the beginning of time...we have all converted even if you belong to the oldest religion, there was a point when you converted into it. I shouldnt matter though...all religions point the same way, yet we choose to not see it that way. I left the 0.02 percent margin for the native(indigenous) populations still isolated from the "civilised" world.
