  • @LionGoddess1 It's called rat tail, or something tail. It causes death to certain dogs now look it up. Also some dogs have extremely thin and extremely sensitive tails and can cause pain to them if something was to get caught on it or so on and so on.

  • @EricCris10sen that is hogwash if a tail caused infections wolves would have never evolved to have dogs offshoot from them then breeds maybe we should breed them to have more fur to protect their "sensitive" tails so that wouldn't have a chance of happening ever think of that?

  • @dchooster Some people find it necessary to cut the tail off. Because a long tail, depending on a type of breed, can actually have the dog get in infection or a type of disease and can kill the dog. But I wouldn't say that MOST people keep it so they can see the tail. Prolly because it is a natural thing on a dog. I don't really think you know what you are talking about.

  • Let me correct myself - a dogs tail does indicate mood, but the average person, just using the tail isn't going to be able to tell the dogs mood. According the PSDA, A wagging tail means a happy dog in most cases , but dogs also wiggle their tails when they are agitated, tense, anxious, annoyed or ready to fight.

And yes, I have seen a dog in person. We've had 3 rotties, and that breed for example commonly wags it's tail, even at times when all other body language shows anger or agitation.

  • The tail doesn't indicate mood? Have you ever seen a dog in person? FAIL

  • Just a side note - the tail doesn't not indicate anything about the dogs mood.

But love the video, my rotti howls like that too! Love it!

  • poor dog

  • yesss its true !!!

  • true

  • yeah, idk about this rott, but most ppl keep the tails so that other people can easily see the dogs mood or how they are feeling (challenged, happy, etc)
