CXO Sustainability Network brought to you by: http://www.littlefootinc.com/
Tedd Saunders, Director of Sustainability for the Saunders Hotel Group http://www.saundershotelgroup.net/ and co-owner of The Lenox Hotel and Comfort Inn and Suites Boston, discusses how the "bottom line of green is black." Creating environmental measures is a great business strategy that strengthens companies by saving money and bringing pride and purpose to the team. Tedd describes how their green initiatives within the hotel industry have led to increases in employee productivity, employee tenure, press, customer appreciation, event business, and of course "good will." He discusses how environmental measures and energy efficiency can be applied to any type of building, old or new. Tedd gives advice to other companies who have not yet taken a green initiative. He understands that it can be hard to know where to start, but stresses that once you've made the decision to do so you will find that implementing energy improvements is a lot easier than you had thought and that you will see greater benefits than you had imagined.
