it's sad watching these matches and knowing that soon probably the best era of women's tennis (serena, venus, clijsters, henin) will be gone. now there are only players who either kill the ball (sharapova, azarenka, kvitova) or completely push it (wozniacki)

@foxnfoxnfoxn Mauresmo is an incredible player. Her technique is impeccable, great serve, amazing volleys and superb variety in her game. That you're too blind to see these things, shows you don't know shit about tennis. Tennis isn't always about power, it's about being smart and using the right shot at the right time, and Mauresmo was great at it. And she has some power of her own as well. Besides that, she showed great athleticism and personality.

@jafarhie fair enough shes nice when things are going well. she was in trouble in the matches,big trouble when she lost her temper. Also i think she has 2 more slams in her possibly 3 but she wont win another french open for sure. Shes at the the end of the road almost.

I have met her a four times at various tournaments and she was a sweetheart. When it comes to tennis she is very competitive. This is what makes her so great. Take it or leave it.

@lordazmadeus The sad fact is that even at 31 Serena still has a chance to win slams in this era. If it wasn't for her foot surgery and near death experience she would have kept racking up slams. She has a few more left in her and then I believe she'll call it quits. All she has to do is regain her match toughness and the slam titles will come.

@jafarhie she turns 31 next year. She is the last remnant (along with her sister) of the steffi graf era. she played graf,sanchez vicario and conchita martinez. She playd with that generatin and now shes a shadow of her former self. By the 2013 australian open venus will be gone (as will clijsters) and serena will NOT be a factor. Also lots of mens and womens players will retire after the olympics-haas,hewitt,gonzalez,­venus,clijsters maybe,ferrero. etc etc
