elegant solution. I simply wrap the first 4 to 5 inches of the cord with white electrical tape. Doing so prevents the cord from bending as much and instead bends with a wider radius.

just get shoe goo. you put it around the same area but you wait for it to dry.

doesn't this cause a point of weakness too but at a different point but at a different point? But, thanks for dreaming up a solution to a really annoying problem.

@diggiemac NO, it doesn't. It actually removes the weakpoint entirely. It's a matter of "mechanical advantage" - -a longer item will have greater exertion of strength over a shorter item. So the MagSaver actually gives a "handle" to the cable, so it doesn't fail.
We've made hundreds of thousands of these, and not a single one has been sent in to fix!

Yes, this can be removed (but why would you?) if necessary--the pins can be pulled and it'll come back off.
