Martin Luther King Jr. quotes:
"You reap what you sow."
"How long? Not long, because 'no lie can live forever.'"
"The burning of our churches will not deter us."
Martin Luther King Jr. walks in Memphis, TN on April 3, 1968. King made his Mountaintop speech at Mason Temple the evening of April 3. The next day, King was shot and fatally wounded as he stood on the balcony outside his room at the Lorraine.
With him was one of his aides: Jesse Jackson. "He's bigger in death than he was in life," Jackson said of King.

I encourage you to remember someone even bigger: the only true savior this world has, regardless of your skin color. His name is Jesus Christ and he is alive, being resurrected from the dead.
Are you saved? If not, here's how, as I have also done, and I can verify that this works: Pray to God from any location. Ask forgiveness of your sins. (Be sincere.) Ask Jesus to save you!
Peace to all.
@Sombomombo I agree with you that the wicked use the bible for their own gain. Satan knows the bible like the back of his hand. Satan might know the scriptures better than any of us. Look how deceived this world is. The devil is the father of all lies, and he spoils the bible for his own gain.
God's Word is still Holy, though. Read the King James Version for best results.
Jesus would forgive you if you would simply turn back to him, as I also have done.

@Sombomombo The name "Jesus" is not on any federal holiday. Maybe that's why they aren't called "holy days" any more.
I just finished reading the entire bible last week. There's no way it was written by a man, let alone a single man. The Holy Bible is by far the most detailed history book I have ever read, plus it gives valuable moral lessons and prophecies the events that are happening now and in the future. I encourage you to read it.

And btw... I'm pretty sure a lot of people we'd both consider bad, or evil, quoted from that book... So what does that tell you about your little book, eh?

Yeah, let's just forget about Easter, and who needed Christmas anyways. Oh and don't forget about Valentines Day.
Look. The author of the bible was a great man (DON'T). MLK read from that book and took into his life the pieces to which he wanted to accept as the truth... like all readers do (because if you haven't noticed, that book can be infered in many different ways, hence all the different sects Christianity.). There is good in humanity, follow it, and reach greatness. :P

@Sombomombo MLK preached some of the words that came out of Jesus Christ's mouth, for example: loving your enemies. MLK has a day on the calendar with his name on it. Yet, there are no days on the calendar with the name "Jesus" on it. Does that seem odd to you?
MLK learned from Jesus. The student is not better than the teacher. Credit should go to the teacher.

For the peace of masses, this is true, and in that respect credit is given without hesitation. But to call upon this man's legacy, and give credit to some outside mind is a failure to understand the good in humanity. THAT is where credit is due.

@Sombomombo Did you know that Martin was a preacher, quoting words from the Holy Bible? Martin gave credit to the Lord Jesus in Martin's speech: Love Your Enemies. Of course, Jesus is the one who commanded us to love our enemies, so Jesus should be the one getting the honor.
People all around the world find peace through Jesus. Give credit where credit is due.

Look at you. Get off your highhorse and SIT DOWN. Martin Luther King Jr. is the man of honor here, not YOUR god, or THEIR god, not even HIS god. RETREAT YOUR EVENGELICAL REACH NOW or choose to blind yourself to the true greatness that mankind can achieve. This is not a message to say who's right or wrong. It's asking of you to give respect to those who truly deserved it, and not manipulating the meaning of the words they spoke to fit your own agenda. Great people are great for a reason.
