    until now i just found a report from a mother whose son communicates by facilitated communication and when he was asked how he had felt at aba sessions he just wrote "helpless"...

    i'm thinking about the pros and cons of aba since i started working with several autistic kids. there are lots of parents who really think that aba is the best therapy for their kids because there's a lot of progress. but i always wondered how THE KIDS experience aba...

    it's too bad, not all therapy is about doing school work but actually about building skills in play,social interaction and the basic skills required for learning in a school setting. doing work is only one aspect of ABA therapy, and it seems you never found someone who knew how to combine it all together for you.
