  • Dude, you DO NOT need to do it behind their back....Tell them STRAIGHT UP, " I AM GOING TO THE GYM TO WORK OUT. I AM ABSOLUTELY DOING NOTHING WRONG BY GOING TO THE GYM AND WORKING OUT! AND IF YOU ARE GOING TO STOP ME FROM BEING PHYSICALLY FIT AND STOPPING ME FROM DOING SOMETHING THAT I LOVE THEN THE ONLY PROBLEM HERE IS FROM YOU GUYS. AND IF YOU HAVE TO GROUND ME THEN GROUND ME BECASUE I AM GOING AND THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT!"

  • Make it clear to them that you are only doing it because you want to be healthy and have a long life. Tell them, "Why would I ever want to use drugs when the whole point of me wanting to workout is to be healthy"..Than, if you have other motives keep them to yourself. Never mention bodybuilders, as they will think you idolize them and will want to use steroids like them..Stick to the whole healthy thing and everything else keep to yourself and don't let them know

  • @Faelian6t5 Are you kidding me man? That is horrible. Are your parents total christians or what? They are afraid because they think you might start using drugs, right? Well, if you want to workout, let them know you understand that they don't want use to use drugs and make them believe that you are completely agaisnt that and think it is very stupid. Go for the more being fit and healthy point of view. Although, you may feel differently inside, just tell them that to make them feel better...

    and the worst part IS the dumbells.. i dnt wanna be so huge u no.. like i want strength more than size.. and they wont let me near a dumbell.. :/

  • So on to what you can start doing.....Well you can start doing PUSH UPS, SIT UPS, PULL UPS, LEG LOUNGES...If you start doing these on a frequent basis and really push yourself you'll definitly start to notice that you are getting stronger and bigger. Keep testing yourself each week and try do a little more than you did the week before....And if you could buy a couple of dumbells, there is a lot you could do with just 2 dumb bells.. You could work out you biceps, triceps, shoulders, chest..etc

  • Secondly, There are many things that you can start doing without a gym. First off you are pretty young and they way you put it, it seems that you haven't lifted much since your parents won't let you. At your age, and for someone who hasn't lifted, you want to start out a little slow anyways and build some muscle and strength before going all out on heavy weights. That way you won't tear a muscle, snap a tendon, or get injured as easily.....

  • I am not saying it's a christian law breaker, I am just saying if your parents were hardcore christians the reason they probably don't want you to lift weight becasue they are afraid of all the drugs that are in the sport (steroids and such). And the way the media has propagandized steroids, i am sure that is why, even though 99.9% of it is all bullshit. Anyways, There are some bodybuilders that do contests and such drug free, so that is pretty biased for your parents to not let you work out.

  • sry.. 1st post ddn come on there: teachers dnt care; skool.. thts my friends who want me to lift weights n who r supporting me with even losing all the fat i had.. social services.. LOOL: i live in a country where the police doesnt care if a guy tries to smash n kill me n my mum when driving as i have witnessed to days ago n escaped with a miracle..

    as fr going to the gym like tht: A. the gyms round here seam to have an age limit of 16+ n im still 15 so :/ tell me wat i can do about this n ill rly rly rly thank u

  • (CONTINUED) As I was saying, that is very strange for them to stop you from WORKING OUT and they will probably be embaressed...So use that to your advantage and tell them if you don't let me work out I will tell my TEACHERS, SCHOOL, FRIENDS, and even SOCIAL SERVICES if you do not let me work out and you guys will look very strange! So I suggest if you don't want me to do that then you will allow me to workout! Besides, i mention social services because there might even be a legal issue with that
