  • The very reason for having this type of event is to uplift young women. This video was only 8mins of a 2hr event, of which Ms. Davis not only volunteered her time, but coordinated to have those sisters, whom she mentors that spoke to the girls. Then we wonder why our young women of color grow up to have hang up when it us our very selves who past judgment and tear down each others spirit. Let us lead by example and be positive for the children.

  • It's great that Ms. Davis volunteered for this event, I'm not knocking it. I was stating my opinion as I see it, that Ms. Davis is not an aritculate or lucid speaker. What good is the message if it doesn't actually reach, register with, impact the audience?

  • To be there was to be truly inspired and witness the connection and great impact the event had. I would like to invite you to participate or attend in future events. The purpose of the organization is to connect positive individuals within the community with the youth. It's clear that you are just as concerned as all of us to influence the mind of our children with positive models.

  • Thank God for Aja-Monet, and Nadia, and Michaela... I was blessed to be a part of this. And as someone who was there, to beauteousbaby's point, the message was gread because it DID reach, register with, and impact that audience that day.

  • Worthy cause

  • Thank you I would love to attend and maybe participate in one of your future events. I am concerned about the messages our youth receive and esp our young girls. I have your website bookmarked and hope to see you all soon.

  • The opening poet is fierce and hopefully does a lot of speaking engagements with young women. We need these kind of sisters to talk to our girls and empower them. But the more of Michaela Angela Davis I see the less impressed I am. I believe she likes to hear the sound of her voice and contributes nothing worthwhile. She loses a crowd and most def a crowd of young girls with the unnecessary extra-ness of her gestures instead of giving some profound content.
