Steel Eating 2 (Hollowpoint vs FMJ)

People often comment that FMJ ammo in 7.62X39 would have penetrated much more dramatically than the hollowpoint ammo we used.
It was just "chance" that we used HP ammo in the first video; we just grabbed a few rounds from a box and hardly noticed or cared. The reason why we didn't care that much is that it doesn't make much difference, if any, in steel. If you think about it, it's not that hard to figure out. Some sort of steel core bullet would, of course, be different.

@TheShadoKnite , What? I think I need an interpreter, or maybe I just need to be smoking the same stuff! :-) About any HP bullets I'm aware of are JHPs. I could be in a different universe, however.

People just can't seem to accept the fact that there's no difference on steel, even when I do it on video. :-)

@hickok45 I´d love to see you behind a .50 BMG eatin´ steel once more... :) Also would love to see several more videos regarding the same caliber (history, reloading, different distances/targets/ammo, etc.). hey Hickok, can you test an FMJ to oh say... I dunno... a grenade launcher? its not like I want to see you blow anything up - thats just stupid, I am requesting this for purely scientific reasons.

What's the story about an explosive bullet? Is that fact or fiction, filling it with mercury, glycerine, sour cream or whatever and then have a pumpkin explode when it is hit. Or is the clip from "The day of the jackal" just fiction?

@Breakneckhydra1 actually thanks to the north hollywood shootout congress made it illegal to import 7.62x39 armor penetrating ammo, although other armor penetrating rifle calibers, including .308 and 5.56 are still legal....go figure lol

@Breakneckhydra1 Ye i know that. But standard issue of back in the day was made of steel and is classified as AP in the US i think (thus illegal), although the round was never intended as AP and has very limited AP capabilities. The 7.62x39 you buy at your gun store is very different from the original (M43) one.
