Hey everyone what's happening? Here I have my grandma's 2009 Nissan Versa hatchback. This will be an in-depth tour of all the features inside and out, I'll start it up and show the engine, then demonstrate how much cargo capacity this little car really has! Be sure to subscribe to my channel if you like this and all my other videos.

It is a base model for a hatchback, the sedans have even FEWER features. It is sold as the Nissan Tiida outside the United States, which replaced the Nissan Sunny (which was the US Sentra until 2006) in 2004 as a 2005 model. It arrived in the US in July of 2006 as a 2007 model, a year later than expected. The US Sentra at the time was redesigned on the larger Renault Mengane platform while the Versa was introduced on an updated version of the old Sentra platform (much like how the Camry, Civic, Corolla, and Accord are redesigned). This makes the Versa a "proper replacement" for the B15 Sentra, because it is sold around the world and uses an updated platform and updated engines from the 2001-2006 Sentra. The 2012 Versa will bring some big changes!

The 2009 Versa Hatchback includes:
1.8L I4 (122 hp @ 5500 RPM and 174 lb-ft @ 4800 RPM) - MR18DE (base models come with a 1.6L engine)
4-speed automatic transmission
Air conditioning (not available on base sedans)
Speed sensitive electric power steering
Power mirrors (not available on base sedans)
Multi-stage front, side, and side curtain air bags for both the driver and passenger w/weight sensors
Single CD player (stereo is not even available on base sedans)
Rear seats fold down flat for more cargo space

Pros:
- Base model starts at $9,990
- Lots of rear leg room
- Plenty of cargo space
- Competes great with subcompacts like the Honda Fit and compacts like the Ford Focus
- Stylish exterior on hatchback models
- Based on an updated version of the old Sentra platform
- Looks and drives a lot better than a 2007 and up Sentra
- Plenty of soft-touch materials on the SL model

Cons:
- Not a whole lot of width in the rear seat
- Frumpy headlights
- Sedan styling is horrible
- Interior is General Motors-like in terms of looks and materials quality which is not a good thing
- Base models are VERY basic (no A/C, no ABS, no stereo or speakers, 107 hp engine)
- Electric power steering and optional CVT takes some getting used to

  • This is a cool video! Funny watching you do everything LOL! I just bought a used 2009 nissan versa! Haven't gotten it yet tho LOL couple of days :) Can't wait!!!!

  • @pawlover1986 You should like it. It was a fairly decent car then, not gonna say the interior quality was impressive (as was anything in the compact class around 07-09) and the ride isn't real sporty but it was better than the focus, elantra, cobalt, or corolla of the same day. Best things I like are the rear seat leg room and the amount of cargo space when you fold the seats down.

  • Car looks great man. I own a sentra :) very happy with Nissan.

  • @IowanativeQR thanks I love nissan too

  • You sound like Bobby in your description, even though you do not talk in your reviews, LOL (btw, do not take that as criticism)

  • @Lexuslover123 haha lol actually i take that as a compliment cause i am trying to differentiate from saabkyle04 and everyone else, watch my latest videos and you'll even find some interior critiques like intechdude300 does :D

  • omfg stop at 97.7 Kwin i wasted 2 mintes of my life thinkiing...he was going to go to kwin >:(

  • @talldude123 you bet!

  • @2004NissanSentra I agree. I have always been dissapointed with the local police choosing Dodge Chargers over Hyundai Genesis for the replacement of the Crown Vic. I'll bet that the Genesis is more reliable than the Charger.

  • @talldude123 Honestly I think so too, and with how far Kia and Hyundai have come in quality nothing compares to how much you get for such a low price.
