  • What exactly is espresso?

  • It's the black stuff (eg. coffee) coming out of the machine.

  • Yes, I know, but what is the difference between Espresso and just regular coffee?

  • Espresso is made by forcing very hot water under high pressure through coffee powder. The pressure creates the "cream" on top of it and generally espresso has a higher concentration of caffeine compared to drip coffee (based on the same volume).

Oh, and it tastes better too, but I am biased.

  • Actually, espresso has a lower amount of caffeine, since it's forced thru, it does't have time to absord as much caffeine. Drip is less strong in taste (since it's so watered down) but has a much higher caffeine count.

I used to get coffee withdrawal headaches during the weekends, lol But since switching to espresso, it's not a problem anymore :)

I actually just bought a Odea Giro myself, to replace my cheap Krups one. Just wished they had an orange model like yours, looks very nice :)

  • haha as im watching this going to make mine..best espresso machine

  • thats alot of noise for a single shot! LOL
