I remember reading that it was actually the Villano's abdominal area that was injured, not his neck.
That was basically Kanyon's fault.

@mrchampsi Actually, they didn't stay in character. I remember it as if I watched it yesterday. Raven and Kanyon immediately broke character. Raven kneeled beside the guy holding his head in place so he didn't move it and cause any more damage to his neck and Kanyon was down on one knee hovering over him as well checking on him. When I say immediately, I mean it. As soon as they hit the move they knew it went wrong and jumped right into position to keep his injury form getting worse.

I remeber seeing this back in the day, I was like fuck man, i remeber his bro tried to get in the ring but raven or kanyon wouldnt let him cause they were staying in charecter
