I'm having trouble putting the videos to my macbook. every time i plug the usb to the camcorder it doesn't upload the videos. do I have to download the disc that it came with in order to upload the videos? Now I have unplugged the usb from the macbook (after I eject it) and it says not to do that... so is my camera broken or??? I'm worried :/

With XA10... 24p logs in out of sync . No probs importing via iMovie 11. 30 fps same thing. ^0i imports fine. Ditto 24 . Thanks for the video. Saved aggro.

This was shot at 24p. That might explain it.

Frank! Good video on HG10 working with Final Cut Express. My question is if there is a way to move source of all those Clips. Mine are all immediately saved in Capture Scratch on the Macintosh HD, but I want them to go to an external hard drive. You mentioned to just move the folder, but that doesn't seem to change what Final Cut Express sources the Clips to. Can you help me please?
how do i upload video off my hard drive of the camera using a usb cord

@rufpictures I simply plug in my HG10 using a USB to USB Mini and then upload using "Log&Transfer" in FCE.

which do you prefer? avchd or dv

@frankt7474 So for import function I go with AVCHD, but when editing in Final Cut I set my projects for HDV.

but you selected the other...what's the diff..i have the hg10 like you...
right at 2:03 you selected the avchd, right?
then, "fce part 1/2 setup avchd"..you selected the hdv selection...i am a newbie, so just wondering the diff and if it makes a diff on quality?
thanks man

@frankt7474 I see what you mean, you have to select AVCHD the first time then you can switch, there is no quality dif tho, didn't realize I had done that.
