The Miners Lot was written in 2009 by Helen Sharpe from the Eastwood Writers Group in Nottinghamshire. It recalls at time prior to pit head baths when miners had to come home in their pit muck. The recording was done by Helen and David Amos at Eastwood in January 2011. It is recorded using local Nottinghamshire dialect in a true DH Lawrence style.

  • Brings back memories... well done

  • Glad you enjoyed The Miners' Lot. You can see the idea with John's story about Fog on the railways. I think it would make a wonderful clip with the right images added to it.
