  • Techinically,Women don't have "Falsetto".Falsetto is used to refer to men

  • @iKETOURAGE

Technically, I can't keep up. Do women have a falsetto or not? People keep on switching on calling it falsetto or head voice for women, and then they say only men have a falsetto, which is it????

  • @mariahcareynum1fan

Oh Sorry,my post seemed a bit rude.

But Woman's extension is called "Head Voice". but many people call it Falsetto because it's easier to understand and most people are already familiar with the term.

  • @iKETOURAGE

Your post was not rude, and I did not take offense at all. I was just trying to get the facts. Thanks! :D

  • @mariahcareynum1fan There is falsetto for women. It's a form of head voice. There's a video about it by a professional vocal coach & everything on here. It's a lighter more airy form of head voice.

  • @LifeisMusic07

Ooooo, thanks! I was getting so confused! :D

  • @mariahcareynum1fan You're welcome :)

Yeah, A lot of people now refer to it as falsetto because their so synonomous. and it's easier to comprehend? but I've always been told that falsetto between men and women aren't produced the same way(Same use of technique). I guess it'll just be debatable forever :-P

  • @iKETOURAGE I know but some male vocal teaches call it falsetto toward women. My teacher said that when a person's natural chest voice gets high and runs out it will be falsetto for men and head voice for women. To get rid of those problem, the solution is mixed voice.
