@salmons83 Sorry dude.. I used to own a '88 KDX200 & it was definately air-cooled. Though I did see an '89 model for sale about 6mnths after I bought mine.. that was water-cooled. I took it for a spin but didn't like it.. they are heavier & I think the early water-cooled KDX's at least are nowhere near as nice to ride as the lighter air-cooled models.. :)
no, 83-85 were similar. 86-88 were similar. 1989 was the first year watercooled... I know. I raced offroad during that time. Had a Suzuki PE175 which was a great bike but not as good as the KDX 200.

85'86 and 87 were all identical except for a few electronic changes...88 was the first year of liquid cooled
