  • Ok I have a mp3 cd that was from 3months ago but I lost the music in the computer. I want the cd back in the library and i cant do it, it wont rip.

  • Hey, for starters, you don't "rip" mp3 cds from a (data) cd, only (stereo) cds. In your case, just move/copy the mp3 files into the LIBRARY and you should be fine. Your MP3 cd acts like a storage cd (or folder), but on cd and not in your computer.

  • Umm...can you always put back the songs when you want to or it stays ripped for ever...please reply

  • When you "rip" songs from a CD, the original songs stay on the CD (in CDA format). The newly ripped or "transferred" songs are now located on your computer in MP3 format, for example. You can copy, move, delete the MP3 files from your computer (to anywhere) any time you like. When you need to replace them, 'cause you deleted them let's say, simply "rip" the songs again from the original CD to your computer in MP3 format. And, voila!

  • Thanks a lot. I'm just getting started and this really helps. I have a question, though. In file name, let's I choose to leave the"genre" box unchecked; once I've uploaded to my mp3 player (which I don't even have yet), will I be able to add to edit on the player to include genre at a later time, or will I have to change the settings and upload all over again. Thanks for your help.

  • You should be able to edit any part of the audio file you want, when you want. You don't need to re-rip. Simply right-click on the audio file (using Windows Explorer) and select Properties; then look for the Details tab. Genre is also under there. You can edit as you like! Hope that helps!

  • GAH! I'm an old hand at ripping CD's on windows media player but my new computer has Version 9 - an older version - which apparently does not allow to rip to MP3 format... just wma. I'll have to install version 10 or later. This video was very helpful.

    Thanks for it!

  • My installation is missing MP3 format as an option. It only has WMA...what is going on? No WAV either
