Hi Kathryn, I recently discovered encaustic painting, but am not familiar with the flow pen. Is this someting you get at a craft store? Is is similar to a wood burner?

@pamrd121 The Flow Pen is not like a wood burner, however both would need a temperature regulator if intended to be used for encaustic techniques. The Flow Pen allows you to create lines and dots unlike other heated tools because of the reservoir.

What is the best flow pen and heat gun to buy? What are the best scraping tools...Loved your demo...

@sandvdh the Flow Pen in the video is from our website. Kathryn is using a Wagner brand heat gun, which you can pick up at a hardware store. Pottery loops and metal shims work great for scraping. For detail work, metal picks work well. Thanks for watching!
