-FLASHBACK [No POV]-
"Mat, I need you to pick me up like, now."
"Al, don't worry, I'm on my way. Which room again?"
"1454. Hurry," the girl breathed quietly.
"Alex? Who's in there? Who are you talking to?"
"Um...I had to call...someone. Um...yeah," the girl responded, lips trembling.
"Al? Al? Alex? Are you there?" her brother asked on the phone.
"Yeah, I'm here. Mat, please hurry. Please," she whispered.
Her eyes widened as the doorknob turned and a shirtless Jon walked into the bathroom. "Who's on the phone?"
Alex shook her head as she mumbled. "Mat? I...I...I needed him to know where I was at. I didn't like...tell anyone where...yeah..."
"Hang up the phone."
"Al? Al. Alex!" her brother yelled into the phone.
"Hang up the phone, Alex. Now."
The girl looked at him in horror as she pressed the end button on her phone. "Jon, babe...don't do this. Okay?"
He walked over to her as she froze in place. "I really don't see why not."
She backed up until she hit the sink. "Jon..."
"Alex..."
Alex ran around him and towards the door until to arms wrapped around her waist and lifted her until she hit the couch.
"Jon!"
"What?"
"Stop!"
"Make me..."
The girl used all her strength and kicked him in the stomach. He fell to the floor and she ran to the door. She opened it and ran down the hall until she crashed into her brother.
"Where is he?"
"Mat, it doesn't matter, come on, please."
"Alex, where is he?!"
"He's..in the room..."
A furious Mat pushed past her and jogged towards the room until Jon came out. Mat punched him in the face and the girl grabbed his arm.
"Mat, please!"
Mat looked at her and she saw a bit of sympathy in his eyes. He took her hand and whispered, "Come on, sweetheart, let's go home."
He let her in his car and got in on the driver side.
"Mat."
Her voice was barely audible, but her brother heard her.
"What?"
"Don't tell Mom and Dad. Please. I...I just want to leave it alone."
He sighed. She could tell he was in deep thought. "Okay, Al, I'll leave it alone. But I'm not leaving that jerk in there alone."
She nodded.
-END OF FLASHBACK-

-Joe's POV-
I sat there, her head buried in my chest, and me stroking her hair. I was rather shocked after hearing her story. It's so sad. I sighed and thought of something to say. Anything. But in reality, I could think of nothing to say that would ease her pain. One thing I did know: what Jon did was indeed a crime. And it was low on his part anyways. And I also knew that as her friend, I couldn't see him threaten her without doing something about it. But...what?
"So...do you know what you are going to...do?"
Her crying stopped. She raised her head and sat up. "I...I don't know. I haven't figured that out yet. I...don't know where he is."
"I know...I know."
She raised her hand to her head. "Oh God. I really don't know."
"Well...maybe...you could move?" he said quietly.
"Joe, living in LA is expensive. I...don't have the money to really LIVE anywhere else."
I sighed. "Well, maybe you could just...stay somewhere else for a while. Just until you're sure that he is gone."
She thought about it. "Maybe. But...I don't know..."
I sighed. "You don't have much of a choice. You can't stay with Mia, it's not sensible because she lives two doors down the hall...maybe you can stay in a cheap hotel for a couple of weeks. That's all."
"I don't have money to do that. I still gotta pay the bill for the apartment. I'll just stay here and lay low, that's all. It won't be too hard, I don't think."
"Until he comes after you. Alex, just...oh! I got it. Look, you can stick around at my place for a bit. I'm sure my mom wouldn't mind. Consider it free room and board. And even when we aren't there, you could...just stay there. We have security and things, right? Don't worry about it."
She thought about it for a moment. "Are you sure I wouldn't be a bother? Oh. What...what about Mat?"
