This is how I replace the ballast in a T8 fixture. You can convert a T12 to T8 as well. Fluorescent bulbs are very dangerous if you cut yourself with one so be careful. I am not an electrician, just a DIY person. Shut off the power so you don't electrocute yourself.

  • The other thing to worry about in terms of

    some electronic ballasts is the ballast making

    a loud "pop" sound when a fluorescent lamp

    reaches EOL... you also have to worry about

    the bad end of the bad bulb melting the socket.
