  • there is more to the different cheeses than just their color...

  • It's not 'food coloring', it is made from something called bixin, from the bright red outer covering of the seeds of a tropical plant originally from South America. Orange cheeses are not naturally made that color, it is color added in the process. Cheddar cheese, without the coloring, is actually white.
