Landmark High Court Case
On Friday, August 6, the Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia ruled in favour of two courageous, young GetUp members who stood against unfair Howard-era electoral law.
As a result of this landmark case, a new constitutional principle has been created that has widened our democratic rights and 100,000 Australians who wouldn't have otherwise had the chance, will be able to vote at this election.
To watch how the story unfolded, check out the video and forward it on.
These sorts of victories are only made possible by the kinds of people who stand up against unfair and unjust law - people like you.
GetUp had never before engaged in legal advocacy, but together - in an historic moment for our movement and the country - we used the Court to undo the laws Howard brought in making it harder to enrol to vote.
It ended in the quickest constitutional challenge in Australian history - but this campaign has been a long fight.
To support the ongoing work of strengthening Australia's particpatory democracy, donate to GetUp. Together, we can make a better Australia.

The ruling was that Zerg were overpowered. That's why you'll notice that Zerg evolution centers cost 150 minerals in blizzard's Asia server (which includes Australia) but only 75 in other servers! The court also noted that Terran vulture mines were very effective but chose not to issue a ruling on this matter.

@McMcWallis
the music is Band of Horses, who were recently doing an Australian tour..they are just awesome. I sure Getup would have acknowledged them somewhere, although I haven't seen their name mentioned anywhere

One of GetUp's greatest achievements, if only they would ever put some effort into producing videos with slightly better quality than you'd expect out of a gorup of high-school students!
