(I) Tentative Tier Placement:

(+) Decently fast, very consistent, and almost totally uninterruptable offense.
(+) Nearly perfect defense during C1-2 spam with SP1 summoned clones.
(+) Very good mobility.

(-) Basic charge damage is very low.

Final garrison clearing time: 30 seconds.

That's A tier all right. As safe as San Zang, only much easier to use. As unstoppable as Shibata, only faster. Honestly, if not for her low damage output, she would easily be my #1.

(II) Character Analysis & Video Comments:

Please note: final speeches, waiting for Orochi phase and running sequences between skirmishes edited out.

This setup differs quite radically from the one commonly used for Nene's maximization (for example, see Nene entry here: http://www.gamesradar.com/psp/warriors-orochi-2/faq/g-2009052916463493064/c-3...). The basic idea underlying the classic setup is making use of Nene's C4. On the other hand, I think that relying on C1-2 is a much more logical choice. Coupled with SP1 clones, C1-2 turns Nene into a mini-Shibata of sorts: fast uninterruptable non-stop charge spam covering 360 degrees is hard to argue with. Both weapon elements and equipped abilities non-standard selection was influenced by my decision to rely on C1-2 as a main charge. Firstly, we drop Air (nearly useless with C1-2) and Agility (counter-productive, since it messes up C1-2 timing to the degree Nene's offense becomes interruptable - you are forced to wait for your target to get up from the ground, and only then proceed with C1-2 spam) for Flame (actually a decent damage-booster in this case: targets are set on fire permanently) and Drain (since Nene cannot trigger Adrenalin with SP1 clones activated, and it is highly advisable to have them activated at all times, this is a rather obvious alternative). Secondly, we unequip Adrenalin, go for Recover, and add Vitality (what else is there to add?) to the remaining empty slot.

Finalized Setup:
Elements: Flame/Bolt/Flash/Slay/Drain/Brave/Range/Might.
Enchantments: Evasion, Stability, Resolve.
Abilities: Vitality, Potence, Fortitude, Impulse, Speed, Boost, Recover.

Tactics:
- C1-2 non-stop spam with SP1 clones summoned. That's all.
- It takes 3 C1-2s to defeat a regular generic, 4 C1-2s to deal with buffed generics or lesser uniques (e. g., Da Ji), and up to 5-6 C1-2s to get rid of stronger uniques, Orochi & Fu Xi included. That seems a whole lot of charges. It is, in a sense. But since her offense is so quick, continuous and uninterruptable, she is a fast and unbelievably consistent officer killer, especially if you manage to outmaneuver the enemy officers and they get into one group (see the final garrison scene in this vid). Also note: if you resort to C3 or C4 as your main charges (both are nothing to write home about in terms of damage), killing speed will actually decrease due to offense inconsistency and constant need to re-position Nene whenever one of her clones knocks target back in some random direction. No more zibonging, please! :)
- Drain allows her to spam C1-2 recklessly. It has even managed to offset heavy damage dealt by phantom soldiers during Zhang Jiao + generic skirmish. Once Nene gets into her C1-2 spamming stance with this setup, she is 99.9% safe, just don't forget to re-summon your clones every 10 seconds.

  • You can kind of do the same thing in MOZ here by cancelling out of a C1 (without clones) with SP1, but the clones will cause the enemy to fall faster in consecutive C1s. I managed to still connect consecutive C1s with the clones, but not very reliably. Spacing and timing are a factor here. As far as how useful this is, I'm not sure since I don't have a maxed out Nene to test it out with yet.

  • Thanks for an interesting idea, I'll definitely look into it! If it's consistency/safety at additional cost of damage, I'm not sure it will be wise to adopt this approach. After all, once Nene catches the enemy into her C1 'spam field', he won't get a chance to hit her, even if it's not an infinite come in a pure technical sense of the word (phantoms and archers still hit her, but Stability, Resolve and Drain solve the problem). I'll run some tests before I jump to any conclusions, anyway.

  • One trick that I discovered for Nene from SW2XL that kind of applies here is that you can chain together C1s by cancelling out of the recovery. In SW2XL, this involves using the Lightning element to lengthen the stun, and the preparation skill to cancel into the special stance so you can follow up with another C1.

  • Setup tested. I've posted my response on the main channel page.

  • I believe Nene can infact trigger adrenaline with shadow clones out, its just that she has to get in a ten hit combo by herself without their help to do so. if you look at the footage of her chaos solo run in warriors orochi done for tiering, you notice that adrenaline procs during the fight with kotaro, despite having clones out, whereas later combos that aren't quite as high but are still above 10 do not.

  • @ChrisTheBest1992

Nene have already Multi in her Special.

    @ nemetzil: too slow...

  • what happens if you equip multi????

  • Thanks for your input, Henry. I'll try to experiment with Nene setups based on your observations after I finish recording a decent Nohime run (not an easy mission).

  • What I meant to say was that the clone activation will knock the officer into the air. Also, my Agility wasn't level 10 yet. I might remove it since a faster C1-2 might potentially mean less defense, depending on if Agility affects the attack speed of the clones. That is, if you're waiting for the enemy officer to get up before starting another C1.

  • I tried it a bit more and I noticed that connecting after the first one without clones is still a bit tricky. If you're too close, the clones will launch them into the air, and if you're too far the second C1 won't connect fast enough. Perhaps it's not that practical, but I'll wait to see what you come up with. I had Agility on, which may or may not have had an impact.

  • On a side note, in SW2XL I consider Nene a top tier character because of C1 spam as well, except you can chain them together into an infinite. And when chained during her musou, it can destroy mobs of officers, whether generic or unique.
