If you want a spiritual trip that isn't going to kill you, stick with DMT. insanely vivid hallucinations with beautiful colors. It also has alot of spiritual effects, when you come back to earth you probably have learned more than you can even describe. DMT all the way. stay away from amanita muscaria it will probably kill you.

Do you realize only a handful of people have ever died from exposure to amanita muscaria, and most were children?

A moderate dose of dried amanita is NOT harmful to the full grown adult unless they have certain liver or renal problems to begin with. Saying "it will probably kill you" is bullshit.

@Styxhexenhammer666 They call them death caps for a reason asshole. where did you learn what you just said? wikipedia? and people don't know dosages for shit. some 15 yr old kid is gunna go out and ingest 25 mg of muscimol or 80 to 90 mg of ibotenic acid because you made some bullshit youtube video thinking it's safe to eat fucking death caps.

@ortausti Actually I learned what I know by actually using amanita muscaria on half a dozen occasions, something you obviously have not done.

"Death cap" is an interchangeable and misused term which loosely applies either to all amanitas or to specifically muscaria/pantherina. However, considering there have been fewer deaths from amanita muscaria ingestion than from, say, psilocybin, I'd say it's relatively safe.

@Styxhexenhammer666 Amanita muscaria Muscimol and ibotenic acid from the Amanita muscaria appear to act on the GABA neurotransmitter system. Muscimol activates GABA receptors on neurons. The GABA neurotransmitter system is one of the brain's major inhibitory systems. Therefore, muscimol acts to inhibit the activity of neurons in the brain.

In fact, the primary effect of psilocin is on the receptors for serotonin (HT-2a). There is also evidence that psilocybin reduces the re-uptake of serotonin by neurons in the brain allowing this neurotransmitter more time to act in the synapse.
