We (www.advantageelectricians.com) were wiring up a continuous motion pool/hot-tub in Shoreview MN the home owner was over seeing all the work himself had the hole dug rented the crane operator etc.. We were onsite waiting for the pool to be set so we could bond the frame and what not, when things took a wrong turn.... I was filming with my phone and I heard the crane operator scream and I took off running toward the front of the house as soon as he started to yell I knew something went wrong. It sounded like thunder when the thing hit the house knocked out the chimney crushed the garage and busted up the house good. The operator was shaking in his boots scared the hell out of him not to mention things like this do not happen they have a load chart that prevents things like that.. needless to say he was on the phone with the owner of the company right away. Crazy Friday....

  • yep you are fired

  • 1.32 watch closely.... interpolations a bitch ahahaha

  • Show me any proof that that crane had extra counterweights. Not on that crane, nope. Maybe on a big crawler crane where another crane is needed to install the counter weights.

  • He had mats, he only broke the driveway because he tipped.

  • The problem? Two-part line, he didn't need it and he slowed the response down to quickly lower the load, had it too high, he also disconnected the computer.

  • He failed to keep the load as low as possible after clearing the garage: taglines weren't used, if he had lowered the pool to just clear the back fence, someone might have been crushed trying to guide the pool by hand. Need mats under outriggers to reduce ground bearing pressure so you don't break the driveway.

  • Looks like he forgot to install all the counterweights, and programed the LMI, (load moment indicater), for full counterweights. Every crane I have operated requires the boom sections to be extended equally. Those boom sections not extended equally add more effective weight to the load. The LMI can't check this.

  • fake and gay :) look at the shadows.. and roof.. no way it could just hit roof like knife..
