@tyleredge8181 - I have a couple of DC30's from 91' and 92' in maroon tolex that your Dad made. First or second batch maybe. Have to say, they are the finest amps in my collection and I have quite a few boutique and vintage amps at my disposal. The only thing that comes close is a 62'/63' AC15 twin (2x12) that I put a pair of blue alnicos into although that baby is very tempremental. That DC30's are as healthy as the day they were made.

without even knowing he was an la legend

have a Sirius, best thing I've ever bought, am bidding on another star and matchless HC-30 (93) right now from a dealer. you are a genius mark, you have made an amp that reproduces the sounds in my head whether I'm playing a vintage strat or Paul. The tones are off the hook! Great work man!

@sowhatdude1 He's actually my Father, but no I cannot give out any contact info. Just wanted to let the high-end amp world know that the Sampson flame is still burnin' strong. Lol.

@tyleredge8181 ... Is that really true?! Do you have his number, seriously, my DC30 needs some work & I'd like to have it tweeked a bit too. I guess he'd probably be the best guy to do it> Write me back if you have any contact info PLEASE~

@sowhatdude1 That's actually completely untrue. He's designing custom boutique amps for high-end clients at the moment. He's sick of the commercial stuff.

bought a star sirius years ago and sold it the biggest mistake i ever made

Mark,
Who was playing those cheezie guitar licks in the background? He needs to learn something different! BTW... Thanks for letting me crank one at your booth, NAMM 2008! I love my Gain Star 30 amp's clean channel!
-
Duuuuuuuuude!, you are nuts. Have you played a Star amp?? Try his Celestial 30 against any DC 30 then report back!!
-
@sowhatdude1 I'll give to you that he always goes for a somewhat redundant look with his cabinets, but the features and circuitry--not to mention overall sound--are as different from each other as two different amp companies can be while still going for that voxy type sound, and with Star that's completely gone. Star amps don't sound anything remotely like a anything previously produced by Mark. His work with Matchless was perfection. Idk his personal story and don't care but these aren't clones
You are a legend Mark... love your amps... Matchless, Bad Cat and Star

He's a true amp legend. He's made history in a very tough industry. Respect.
