Dolcedoja, you're right, she's unforgettable because she had such tremendous a personality and a wonderful voice which fit any blues so well. It's a pity the quality of the record was not that good then, while it kept a real magic of the performance. Wow!!!

People do drugs because they are too lazy to get a natural high. Drugs are a cheat.

Think about it.

Joplin would tell you the same thing. Read a few bio's about her. Amazing talent but she thought she couldn't preform without booze or whatever. She lead people who didn't know how to handle life and were young. My sister was a follower of her and died decades before she should have of multiple problems caused by drugs, smoking and booze. Neither of these women had a quality life. Sad.
