If you ever find yourself in need for C-Cell battery, just make yourself a C-Cell adapter when you have spare AA batteries lying around. Nowadays, there are AA Nimh rechargeables with decent capacity that are comparable to C-Cell's battery life. Plus AA are already the same length. You just have to wrap some paper cardboard around them. (You don't have to wrap it very tight.) Then put a penny on the top and/or the base of the AA battery to get good contact with the springs or metal terminals.
That's it!

Shouldn't take more than 5 minutes to make a C-Cell adapter. This video shows the procedure for making 2 C-Cell replacements that are in in-line or tandem configuration. Modify and/or cut the materials to fit your needs.
(If you are 8 years and under, please ask your parents or guardian to assist with cutting.

  • or u could just buy the right type of batters

  • @DjDelRe do you know how expensive C batteries compare AA batteries.

  • Yeah, it works. I read on a Battery Forum that the AA and C are the same length. All you need is to make the AA thicker. That's what the cardboard and penny are for. Some people like to use a Nickel instead. Works great.
