These are 2 of the best and biggest BJJ champs in the world. Unless this guy is Roger Gracie he isn't gonna last long. Also judging by his blatantly ignorant statement i'm guessing he's never practiced BJJ which further proves mine and mycatslya's point.

Oh wow, never knew Joe Rogan did TKD.

Although just for a bit of updated knowledge I believe he received his black belt in bjj now. Although you should double check that yourself.

Joe Rogan also has a black belt in TKD and at the age of 19, he won the US Open Tae Kwon Do Championship and, as the lightweight champ, went on beat both the middle and heavy weight title holders to take home the Grand Championship. He also got a brown belt in BJJ and after all that he says he wasted YEARS of hard work "Becoming really good at something that's stupid" He said he went against kick boxers and got his ass knocked around since TKD is mostly legs, So don't act all hardass over TKD.

To be honest, there is a lot of overlap between the grappling arts on those elements, with the differences often being one of philosophical difference or focus in training. That is why many MMAers cross-train across different grappling arts. If I were starting a career in MMA, I would probably crosstrain in Wrestling and BJJ. If I had to choose one, probably BJJ but like I said, there is a lot of overlap with most grappling arts.

The original Jujitsu is a little outdated though.

What is better bjj or jujitsu? I already fight MMA but dont do much ground and I am good at boxing/kickboxing. I am looking to learn takedowns, slams and groundwork ect what would be the best?

Look at my username. That's what would happen if we fought grappler guy. Blunt force trauma>two guys on the ground cuddling.
