Captain Henry T. Elrod destroyed two enemy airplanes in a
vicious fight over the island and became the first man
to sink a warship, the Japanese destroyer Kisaragi,
with small caliber bombs delivered from a fighter aircraft.

  • I think the best way it to have an AI plane fly a set way point over/around the island to have a more of a smooth view of the island. If you want to make it look cool you can speed up the time.

  • @TheMisterFPS It's a good idea .. I will surely test and apply it in the future. Thanks :)

  • Henry Elrod was my Great Uncle from Georgia. There is a Ship named after him stationed in Norfolk Naval Base. It is the USS Elrod (FFG-55) and it is deployed very often and has served 'Her Country' very proudly. We should ALL be proud of her service and more importanty the men & women that serve on 'her'. Thank God for Henry T. Elrod, the USS Elrod, her crew and especially God Bless America.

  • @velrod11

    I am pleased to receive a message from someone of Major Henry T. Elrod's family.

    I hope you appreciate my video related to your uncle's exploits on Wake Island.

    Parts of Maj, Elrod's F4F-3, including the aircraft's cowling nose ring, tailhook, and propeller, have been used in a memorial, constructed on Wake Island, but you also known.

  • Why is the plane so "jerky"

  • @TheMisterFPS If you mean the image of the burning island, this is not from an airplane, but with mouse dragging.

    If you know a better way to show an overview, let me know, any help is welcome. ;-}
