Dave Stockton (putting genius) has a drill where he has his students place an object 2-4 inches in front of the the ball on a 3-10 ft putt and you concentrate on rolling the ball over that spot. Essentially, you turn a 3-10 ft putt into a 2-4 inch putt. Dave Stockton specializes in simplifying the putting game. Check out his website at www.davestockton.com or check out his iPhone app. Also, check out trulinegreens.com. They make great indoor putting greens that allow you to chip and putt. I thought I attempted 100 but only putted 80. I was listening to the Dan LeBatard radio show podcast and lost track.

  • Solid.....did you read his book or watch his DVD? What's your handicap? I've been using that drill and his drill I saw on Golf Channel, where he puts the end of a grip on the back of your hand at address and then backs it away 4 or 5 inches and your hand should hit that same spot when you putt....if you raise the putter it will hit your knuckles or fingers instead of the spot on the back of your hand.

  • @iiioneil thanks for your comment. i have not read the book or watched the dvd. i do like how simple he makes things. that drill that you described is also an outstanding drill. my handicap is +1.1. if people flipped the amount of time they spent on the range with the time they practiced around the green their handicap would drop significantly.

  • @stoeck78 looks like a scotty cameron red x that is center shafted

  • Interested in what putter you are using....I like the center mount position of the shaft and would like to try one like that. Thanks.

  • Too funny! I too am an aspiring golfer, who prefers Stockton to Pelz, and also an avid listener of the Dan LeBatard show.

  • Really impressive!
