A flashmob infiltrates the Westin St. Francis hotel in San Francisco and performs an adaptation of Lady Gaga's song "Bad Romance." The event was organized to draw attention to a boycott called by the workers of the hotel who are fighting to win a fair contract and affordable healthcare. Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Queer activists put the song and dance together as a creative way to tell the hundreds of thousands of LGBTQ people from all over the country coming to San Francsico in June for Pride to stay out of the boycotted hotels.

I am going to stay at the Westin St. Francis hotel in San Francisco for two weeks to make up for this incredibly awkward display of misguided protesting. I am leaving in two weeks for California, glad I saw this video beforehand.

Yes however if management is being unreasonable actions such as this often with outside help are often the best course of action, as going on strike hurts employees far more than management, while doing actions and enforcing a boycott is much more detrimental to management than employees. And what grounds would that be? Also keep in mind you'd be giving the union ammunition to use against you in a city that is more simpathetic to them than to management generally.

I'd be okay with a death penalty for flash-mobbing.

actions like this had nothing to do with it. its for the staff to negotiate their contracts with management and if necessary strike or publicise their plight. i see no evidence of the staff calling for a bunch of liberal arts students to cause an unnecessary, embarrassing and amateurish scene. if i were a manager and knew members of staff were connected to these people id have grounds to dismiss them, and i gladly would.

if a bunch of wierdos came into where i worked and started shouting and making a fuss about my rights and my relationship with my managers i would tell them to fuck off. it is condescending towards the employees and probably rather embarrassing too. if i went to where you work and started telling everyone your job is shit how would you feel about it? grateful? i doubt it.
