A late 1920's Decca bowl-in-lid portable gramophone with Telesmatic soundbox playing "The Wedding of the Paper Doll" by The Manhattan Melodymakers on the Broadcast label, 2505-A.
"Someone had brought a phonograph into the bar and they sat listening to "The Wedding of the Painted Doll." --_Tender is the Night,_ Book 3, Chapter 2.
"They" is Nicole and Dick Diver. Their marriage is about to collapse at the end of this section of the novel.
the decca bowl-in lid gramophones are stunning.I have one simaler but older in a plain brown case which was actualy in the trenches in ww1!, so a real decca "trench" gramophone.thanks for posting
