    @erik pilon this is the only way a cable should be wrapped. The video forgets to mention that some kind of tie needs to be used to store the cable. Get Velcro cable wraps .

    I've been successfully using the over-under cable-wrapping method for years, but only recently I find myself accidentally (and frequently) unspooling the cable incorrectly and creating all those knots (like you demonstrate). I like your tip for fixing it—any tip for preventing it altogether?

    actually had a stupid boss once tell me that I was wrapping the cords wrong even tho I was doing over and under, then said the 14" loops where to tight. lolwut?

    I used to work as a sound tech in an auditorium. It drove me absolutely crazy when people would wrap cables around their elbow and thumb. I just told them that it damaged the cables over time, which I'm not sure is particularly true or not.
