Found this quick so put this video together, with pretty much all new clips! Rode him with Eryn (horsy1234567) on Thursday and he was great. He's really getting the hang of walk to canter :)


Then I hacked him out on his own yesterday and he was awful, I broke down half way round the ride, I was actually scared he would do something stupid and we'd get hurt. Gonna really focus on his hacking on his own, he doesn't have much confidence with it at the minute and neither do I.

Hope everyone had a lovely Christmas and that 2012 is a good year! Will have a 2011 video up at some point.

@jesspopbang I'm sure the more you do it, the better he will get if he used to be fine :) I know how frustrating it is though - it's hard to enjoy your ride when you're worrying about that all the time! Hope things improve soon xx

@RolsterLady Toby used to be fine, I think it's because he hasn't done it on his own in quite a while. He's fine in company but when he's on his own he plants himself and wont go forward, spooks at silly things and shies out to the other side of the road xxx

@jesspopbang Well, Esme napped was because she was nervous, so i spent months hacking in company before i attempted hacking her alone again, which made both of us more confident and she got used to different routes, then i started taking her out on her own, for 5 minutes at first and building it up. If she started being naughty i'd simply get off and lead her for a while before getting back on, so that we didn't get into an argument and make things worse! What does Toby do when he's naughty? xx
