  • So what they are doing in this video is testing the trimming of elevater, not the elevater itself.

  • I see that now.

    The reason for the whole horizontal stabilizer being able to rotate up or down, is if the aircraft is nose heavy or tail heavy, or the load shifts while in flight, or if you throttle up or down, you can trim the whole horizontal stabilizer, so the plane flies in level flight with the hands off the controls.

  • Can anyone clarify me plz, I thought that only back half of the elevators were moveable as i have seen a lot of aircraft takeoffs, but in this video whole of the elevator is moving... Exlain it please
