My overclocked gameboy advance sp. It is running at 32 MHz, normal machine runs at 16 :)

  • Did you use a 32 MHz crystal instead of a GBA overclock chip?

  • @devanwolf1 no, in my case I was just screwing around with the regular crystal by shorting the 2 of four pins on it with a 3-4 loop inductor and fortunately I was able to double the frequency of the crystal maybe a multiplier switch on the crystal or something related

  • while yes, an overclocked system will run twice as fast if the clock speed is at twice as fast, its quite obvious you sped up the video. it jerks around quite a bit, so unless you shotgun'd a monster or two beforehand, there is little to back up your claim, and blatant refusal to back it up does not do you any good. i do find it funny how everyone else who disagrees uses terrible sentence structure and spelling whist freaking out, but you just remain calm. Are you the troll, or are they?

  • @BloodEyePact it never ceases to amaze me of all the reactions from the skeptics out there, why would I lie about overclocking a GBA? This video is coming from the same guy who runs the Nintendo gamecube on their computer.

However we are all entitled to our opinions.

  • @BlkSerialKilla i don't quite think it would run 2x fast. i mean, if you rely on the timings from the vertical counter of the lcd refresh, and the screen refreshes at the same Hz, then you would still run at normal speed. it would certainly be an interesting thing to examine in greater detail, i can't say i'm that knowledgable about gba, though the vertical counter is def. mapped into i/o ram somewhere. i also see no mention of the coprocessor; it appears to be a pretty decent troll to me.

  • @ibwonderbread yet it would appear you know nothing about electrical engineering from a general statement like that (no offense) I am just fed up with all this accusatory trolling posts guys like you have been posting.

Besides that, Your statement would be nullified by the mere fact that other companies have release products that do over clock the GBA just like I have done so here.

  • @ibwonderbread All I did to produce this was use a inductive wire looped around 3-4 times and short it on the crystals pins 1 and 2 thus allowing the GBA's clock circuit to resonate at half the crystals resonance. No calculations just a bored night I chose to tinker with the GBA and luckily it worked. I just had to figure out the right amount of loops.

  • looks like it was filmed in the 90's LOL

  • @Klar1net wel than how did he make his game faster geniuslol

    trolling snake ftw!!

  • @Klar1net well they have to make computer operating systems actually stay the same speed so different users with completely different computers can run the os at the same speed. imagine this, what if you had a pentium 2 and your friend had an i7. you would both get similar boot up times and such despite the specs

  • I wonder what would happen if you connected your "turbo" SP to other stock SPs in a multiplayer scenario. Do you think your player would be twice as fast as your opponent(s)? Would you both be twice as fast as normal? I wonder if it would even work? Will you test this and post your results? That would be interesting to see. BTW, how did you achieve the "overclocking"? If you told us, I must have missed it. Thanks!

  • Is it possible to upgrade the GPU?

  • @Klar1net it is very possible this is legit. Game console programs tend to set the timing and speed of the game based off the clock speed, since they never expect it to change, so when it gets ovrclock the game runs faster due to thia. Poor programmijg imho but undrstandable giving the target devices

  • @drizzyXDj3 No he wasn't, it was the fact this was made in 2007, when you upload to YouTube, they really conpress videos so it looks like absolute shit.

  • @Klar1net Maybe it's legit, but the GBA SP runs and renders games in a bizarre fasion due to maybe, strange coding of the kernel(main locked rom that loads the coding from the ROM, I don't know)

  • W-woah. I thought I was tripping out at the beginning of this video.
