Violent fighting to come again! As a year flew-by from the excitement, we now declare the opening of our special team tournament again.... Never fails to make me lol XD

*cues montage of fighters*

Note: Playing this on VisualBoyAdvance, which plays GB/GBC/GBA roms. I tried changing the file extension from .gb to .gbc so that there'll be colour, but sadly, it means that the sound effects get drowned out =/ Meh, playing it in all its black & white glory. Also, the sound does get glitchy every now & then.

The first game I played on the good ol' Gameboy (Brickboy's more appropriate). It's basically started my love for KOF. A very fun fighter that's actually quite good. Great 8-bit audio as well (especially Kagura's Fairy theme, which is my fave track from the KOF series). 15 + 5 hidden characters (Mr. Karate, Goenitz, Kagura, Iori'/Orochi Iori & Leona'/Orochi Leona. They can be unlocked by pressing Select multiple times at the Takara logo screen (that sound effect you hear at the beginning is a confirmation of it). To select the last 3 hidden characters, press Start on 'em.

Playing the game on Hard mode, which allows me to fight Mr. Karate after the credits. Selected Mature (damn, no Vice D:), Iori' & Mr. Karate (lolbroken). Yeah, played badly in the 1st 2 matches, having to rely on Karate to win =/

  • @freezyefc oops lol i meant Super Mario Land yea it was Super Mario Land 1. however the game i used to always play was super mario Land 1, KOF 96 and Dr. Mario

  • @nintendo27027 Pretty cool. Which SMW? I remembered 2; it was the best one I've played. Airport, you say? The haven of lost & found XD

Yeah, repeats are lame; the 15-in-1 one I had didn't have them, but the 128-in-1? Let's just say there were really only 40+ games XD

  • @freezyefc on that cart it had good games like Super Mario World, Tetris and Dr mario but it had this pirated sonic game called Sonic 3D Blast 5 which is awful. also the cart actually repeated tetris twice. It also had jurassic park and battle city and it had TMNT 3 in japanese. Oh that cart was awesome, I found it in 2005, in an airport. lolz

  • @nintendo27027 Haha. Mine was a 15-in-1. Same here; I was mashing, but then I kinda messed around & found ways to execute moves. I loved Mature then, I still do now :D

Lol. Talking about "illegal" carts, I fondly remember that cart... it had the best games lol. There was a Yu-Yu Hakusho (sp?) fighting game as well I think. I do remember playing a really fun Doraemon & (gasp!) Sailor Moon adventure game there, though both were in Japanese... well, the first one was iirc 8D What about yours?

  • I had this on a 21-in-1 cartridge even tho i never knew what to do, i used to mash buttons lolz and i used to play with Chizuru for like no reason

  • I didn't know you could 8-bit "ESAKA?"...
